Our Expertise
Michelle’s speaking topics include the following presentations
Building Mentally Healthy Workplaces
In this session, you’ll discover practical, evidence-based strategies to create mentally healthy workplaces by strengthening psychological safety, supporting staff wellbeing, and fostering a positive, inclusive culture. We’ll explore how to proactively identify and manage psychosocial risks, improve communication and trust, and empower leaders to build environments where people feel safe to speak up and contribute. You’ll also learn how to embed these practices into everyday operations to create safer, more engaged, and resilient teams, enhance performance, and develop a workplace culture where both people and business outcomes can thrive.
Creating Psychologically Safe Workplaces
In this session, we’ll explore how to cultivate a culture of care that forms the foundation of a psychologically safe workplace. You’ll learn how respect, support, and the confidence to speak up without fear are built not just through policies, but through everyday behaviours, leadership, and positive interactions. We’ll discuss how psychological safety improves communication, boosts engagement, and helps teams identify risks early, strengthening both wellbeing and performance. By the end of this session, you’ll have practical strategies to foster a resilient, high-performing workplace where people feel safe, valued, and able to perform at their best.
Enhancing Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace
This presentation explores the importance of building genuinely inclusive workplaces where diversity is not only recognised but actively supported through everyday practices, leadership, and culture. It highlights how inclusive environments drive stronger engagement, innovation, and overall organisational performance. A key focus is on the inclusion of people with disability, emphasising the need to move beyond awareness to practical action and equitable access. The session outlines employer responsibilities and the importance of creating environments where individuals can contribute fully and safely. It covers workplace adjustments as a critical enabler of inclusion, simple, practical changes that remove barriers and support individuals to perform at their best. This includes flexible work arrangements, adaptive technology, modified duties, and tailored support, reinforcing that adjustments are not special treatment, but a fundamental part of fair and inclusive work design. The presentation also addresses the role of leadership in fostering psychological safety, respect, and belonging, ensuring employees feel valued and confident to bring their whole selves to work.
Developing and Implementing Wellbeing Initiatives at Work
In this session, I’ll guide you through practical strategies to create and implement effective workplace wellbeing initiatives. You’ll learn how to identify your organisation’s unique needs, engage leaders and employees, and design programs that genuinely support mental, physical, and social wellbeing. We’ll explore how to embed wellbeing into everyday operations, measure the impact of your initiatives, and adapt programs to ensure long-term success. By the end of this session, you’ll have actionable insights to build a healthier, more engaged, and resilient workforce — and create a workplace where people can truly thrive.
Supporting Workers Impacted by Family and Domestic Violence
This presentation highlights the critical role workplaces play in supporting employees impacted by family and domestic violence (FDV), positioning it as both a human issue and a workplace safety obligation. It explores the scale and impact of FDV, and how it presents as a psychosocial hazard under Work Health and Safety laws, affecting not only individual wellbeing but also workplace safety, performance, and culture. The session outlines key legal obligations, including the 10 days paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave under the Fair Work Act, and the growing expectations on employers to proactively identify and manage psychosocial risks. A strong focus is placed on practical workplace responses, including creating safe disclosure pathways, implementing appropriate risk controls, supporting affected workers with flexibility and resources, and building leadership capability to respond with empathy and confidence. Ultimately, the presentation reinforces that prevention, early support, and psychologically safe cultures are essential, and challenges organisations to create environments where employees feel safe to seek help without fear or stigma.
